Bot Specific Settings
Advanced Settings

Alt Selection DialogThe Alt Selector is very simple and won't take much time to cover. There's three modes in which you can operate the bot, the first is the -pick mode where you are prompted by Furcadia when you connect, this mode is the quirked mode where the bot will stand fast waiting for the client to connect. At this time, I have not implemented a means to determine if you cancel the selection of the alt, the program will stay in the "waiting for the client to connect" state until you either start Furcadia, or press the disconnect button on the bot. It don't matter much how you start Furcadia, the bot will capture the connection unless you edit your settings beforehand. The settings also remain "dirty" until one of the above happens. Closing the bot at this point, (pressing the [X] in the corner or using the Exit under the File menu), and the bot will attempt to restore your settings before shutting down.

The second mode is when you use the Use INI File button to browse for a character file to use for the bot, in this case, the bot will launch the client with that file as the character to use. I consider this the safe mode of operation because you can make a bot for someone else, and when you send them the bot file, you're not sending them your password for the character you was using to test the bot with. Unless you're swift enough to remember to erase these fields before you send it. Every time. Note that when you use this mode, the fields (except password) are filled, but not used when the bot connects.

And the final mode is where you embed the character information into the botscript itself, this I consider the unsafe mode because of the above. You can either use the Load INI File button to browse for a character file to use, or manually load each field with the desired information. Do note that password is not optional, you must specify it.

Now once you've gotten the character in by one of the above means, there might be a reason to edit the character's attributes, whether it's colors, or description, or species, and you would use the Edit Colors button to launch the Furcadia Character Editor to make the adjustments. If you're using a path to the character file, then this just edits that file itself, however, if you're editing an embedded character, then this creates a temporary file for the editor to use, and once you've made your changes and saved them, you need to click the RELOAD button to get the program to update the information. What reload button? The one that appears when you click the Edit Colors of course!

Advanced Bot Settings

Advanced Settings

And here we are at the advanced settings for the bot. Not much to talk about on this, what you read in each of the checkbox's means what it says. Do note the Save The No Process means exactly what it says too, if you check this, then your bot will remember any of the master no process flags you set in the bot, however, the variables that you use to set or clear them is not saved from session to session. So at the time of this writing, if you set a no process flag, you can't test it next time the bot is started with that botscript file if that no process flag is set.

One other thing to mention is Verify Furre Appears, this tries to limit the "When a furre appears" to the zone in which normally the client detects a furre appearing, or rather, when the server is supposed to inform the client that a furre appears. Through trial and error, I've found that this is not always so. There is instances when a furre is declared to have appeared to the client, but they are actually quite a bit outside the viewable area of the client. The bounds on this is +/-4 horizontally and +/-10 vertically. That's in absolute server map coordinates, not map coordinates where everything is multiplied by 2.
